On Wednesday 6th October, 2010 I proposed to the Conference delegates, the establishment of an International Institute of Marist Studies, which would be approved by our Marist Congregation and overseen by our 22 Marist Institutions of Higher Education.
Participants at our Conference affirmed the idea, seeing it as valuable for the future sustainability and growth of our Marist Institutions, while recognising the complications of crossing cultural boundaries and financing such a venture.
